World Market Center III
About World Market Center III
World Market Center III is a conventional building with an unconventional approach. 596 Buckling Restrained Braces were incorporated into the design, which made it lighter, faster to erect, less expensive to build and protected against seismic activity. The foundation begins with a five foot thick spread footing. Three cranes were continuously used to decrease schedule time further. SME Steel successfully completed this massive undertaking, comprising detailing, fabrication and erection, in less than twelve months, coupled with a savings of several million dollars to the owner. This complex structure showcases skewed bilateral steel symmetry with an overlapping and dynamic geometric design.
